Just FYI on August 2nd 2013 there was a blackout causing hosting down on Endurance International Groups servers.
Hence major hosting companies servers were down which the company EIG holds had their clients facing outages.
Those companies as listed are: Hostgator, Bluehost, Hostmonster, Just Host and iPage among other companies as listed here in Wikipedia.
There are many claims that Hostgator used to be a nice hosting company and now after acquisition of Hostgator for 225 million USD its service has become bad.
Well to rest all doubts there are reports that Endurance International had all its servers in Provo and bad weather or hack might have caused the issue.
As of now all problems pertaining to this issue has been resolved.
There was a similar attack on Godaddy months ago by hackers group.
Endurance International has so far though refrained from talking in this respect and their official statement is awaited which might be released today.
With Hosting platforms such things are now becoming quite often and common where servers are either attacked by climate or hackers and cause major damage to businesses worldwide.
However good news for you folks out there is that EIG has teamed up with Google for getting Google get your business online initiative going forward.
So may be Google brings in some value as to servers and its security and avoid hosting down in future.
