Update: The WordApp Builder is still cool, but they have not yet sorted the problem for me.
I have however found icons that do load (to my utter surprise) and I am using those in the meantime.
Currently I’m discussing with them a few other display issues. Pity they don’t react as quickly as the SKT themes team!!

have you tried adding the entire piece of code?
go to header.php
find the start of the header:<head>
enter the entire line of verification code:
<meta name=”google-site-verification” content=”here-will-be-your-own-specific-code” />
it must now look like:
<head><meta name=”google-site-verification” content=”here-will-be-your-own-specific-code” />
then go to the bottom of the page and click on ‘update file’
I had no luck with the google verification plugins, but this always worked for me. After updating, you can go back to your google webmaster tools and verify your domain.

Uploading and customization was super-quick and easy to handle (even to me – a firsttime WP themes customer).
But the jackpot goes to Shri who sent me a piece of script to include in the CSS box of the ‘general settings’ and this worked like a charm! Thank you Shri for understanding my problem and sending me the solution in only a few hours (I guess we have a notable time difference between you and me!!).
